LINZ's aerial-photo footprint layer helps locate individual film frames from aerial surveys flown between 1936 and 2008. Its attributes identify surveys, runs, frames and other source details, giving GIS users a spatial way to locate imagery made long before the dataset was published online.
The frame outlines are estimated and some records lack geometries. The footprint catalogue identifies photographs; it does not itself contain the full-resolution aerial images.
