Ian R Brown Associates prepared the combined earthquake hazard mapping methodology for Wellington Regional Council in 1996.

In the 1996 Wellington Regional Council project, Ian R Brown Associates worked with Kingston Morrison and Victoria University of Wellington to combine earthquake-hazard information. Arc-Info layers for ground shaking, liquefaction, slope failure, active faults and tsunami inundation were translated into TECHBASE and evaluated on a 10-metre grid to produce a combined hazard index for regional assessment.
