Otago Regional Council sponsored and used GIS for regional hazard and engineering work, including the Dunedin Lifelines project. It developed growOTAGO climate and soil mapping, published on maps and CD-ROMs in 2004 and later made available online. Its wider GIS work covered hazards and environmental management.
