Richard Williams, James Brasington, Damià Vericat and Murray Hicks combined mobile terrestrial laser scanning with aerial photography and optical bathymetric mapping over a Rees River braided reach in research published in 2014. Their work assembled more than five billion survey observations into detailed terrain information.
