In 2006, Hamish Lough completed MSc research at University of Canterbury titled “Predicting the spatial distribution of stoats, ship rats and weasels in a beech forest setting using GIS”. The research examined GIS-based prediction of the distribution of stoats, ship rats and weasels in beech forest. Its contribution belongs to spatial conservation ecology.
