In 2011, Kevin England completed MSc research at University of Canterbury titled “A GIS approach to landslide hazard management for the West Coast region, New Zealand”. The Canterbury research mapped West Coast susceptibility to rainfall-triggered landslides using an inventory, bivariate statistical analysis and an analytical hierarchy process.
