In 1990 Richard Pascoe and John Penny published work on the interchange of data between geographic information systems and on constructing interfaces for geographic-data exchange.
In 2001 Bryan Clarke represented Christchurch as the local-government Data Modeller on the Crown emergency-services core-data project, working with University of Canterbury’s Richard Pascoe, who advised on UML and ISO/TC211 standards.
