In 2016, Robert Arthur Poynter completed Master of Geographic Information Science research at University of Canterbury titled “Assessing the influence of environment and socio-economics on spatial and temporal patterns of COPD hospitalisation in Christchurch : a GIS approach”. The Canterbury Master of Geographic Information Science examined spatial and temporal patterns in COPD hospitalisation across Christchurch in relation to environmental and socioeconomic conditions.
