Crown Forestry Rental Trust thematic inquiry map books (2005)

The Waitangi Tribunal's 2017 bibliography records numerous map books commissioned by the Crown Forestry Rental Trust for proceedings held in 2005. Examples include a three-part thematic series for Central North Island inquiries (Wai 1200), a National Park inquiry map book (Wai 1130), Te Urewera maps for Maungapōhatu and Ruatoki (Wai 894), and further Wairarapa land-block mapping.

These are identifiable documentary map products with source-specific Tribunal document identifiers, locations and purposes. The bibliography establishes their commissioning and filing; without examining their source files it does not prove which GIS software generated each book, nor whether their map layers were included on the separately catalogued 2006 ArcFlax DVD.

The Trust distinguishes general overview map books filed in hearings from claimant-specific map books. The available bibliography is evidence for the former map products, while direct access to unpublished claimant-owned map data should not be presumed.
