Timaru District Council’s Significant Natural Areas survey ran from 2005 to 2016. The council-hosted 2016 report says confirmed areas were delineated in the council’s electronic mapping system, GIS, and that the information fed into property and LIM records. It names Richard Lovell and Steve Caswell as District Council GIS staff. The report does not establish their individual start dates or identify a software vendor for the 2005 workflow.
Terralink’s 4 March 2004 announcement names Timaru District Council as a participant in the shared South Island orthophoto acquisition. The release describes regional imagery for local-government GIS, consent processing, land-use work, civil defence and asset management. This evidence establishes participation in the shared imagery project; it does not identify the council’s internal GIS platform or named practitioners.
